Herbal Soup (AMK Hub)

Always been a fan of herbal stuff. So when I was at Ang Mo Kio Hub Food Court, decided to go to the Herbal Soup Stall.

This was what I ordered. Dig out the herbs and place on top of the chicken. Too little herbs… and lousy quality too. How did I know? Because I am one of those who actually eat the herbs. Actually by looking at the herbs, its obvious that its some lousy quality herbs. The herbal soup base at the bottom was to salty. I believe that salt has been added to enhance the taste. Can’t taste any herbal taste as it was overpowered by the salt and the herbs was either to little or lousy quality.

The chicken was soft, tender but tasteless. None of the herbal essence was infused into the chicken. I would say its quite disappointing. When the main ingredient (herbs) is compromised, essentially the whole dish can goes wrong.

If you are in the area (Ang Mo Kio) and have a craving for herbal soup, you might wanna walk 10minutes and try this instead.

Fish Soup (AMK Hub)

Ang Mo Kio Hub NTUC Foodfare (Food Court) at level 3 again. This time tried the Fish Soup Stall, its located near the entrance of the food court.

 

Fried Fish Thick Bee Hoon, $3.80

 

The fried fish thick bee hoon (with milk) was disappointing. Everything was average except the fried fish. And sadly, this is what matters after all the name of the dish is ‘fried fish…’ The fried fish were large, in the sense that each slice was very thick and I suspect that it was not very fresh. Ironically I finished everything except the fried fish. I have eaten here sometime ago, looks like either standard has drop or inconsistent.

 

Mini Steamboat

 

 

Mini Steamboat, $4.80

 

Normally you will order this along with a bowl of rice ($0.50). The flame was too big, was making my eyes tear. Good thing the flame did not last long. Not sure how the fried fish in here was. But they provided lots of vegetables and tofu inside.

Hokkien Mee (AMK Hub)

Went to Ang Mo Kio Hub NTUC Foodfare (Food Court) at level 3.

Hokkien Mee $4.00

There was 3 prawns in it, pieces of sotong, bean sprouts and noodles. Quite nice, however, the prawns was not fresh. The rest of the ingredients were fresh. The chilli was shiok. For the price of $4.00, this was not too bad.
