Chicken Schnitzel $6.00

Chicken Shnitzel comes with generous servings of vegetables, fries and a huge chunk of chicken that was well marinated. The chicken was not oily and was soft and tender. The vegetables was boil, another plus, who says you can’t try to be healthy eating western food.

This is another hidden gem in a coffee shop. I can’t wait to try the other items available. Who says you can’t find good quality western food at affordable price?

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle (BCM) (2nd Post)

This is my 2nd post of Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle. My 1st post can be found here. This is my favourite BCM, in fact, it is the BEST in Singapore. Oh, BCM means Bak Chor Mee which means minced pork noodles.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle

One and only Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle

AS the sign says, this is the ONE and ONLY ORIGINAL sta! Reason for this sign, take a look at the lawsuit.

Starting from $4.oo onwards.

The queue

For good food, you will not mind waiting. The queue stretches a the way out of the coffee shop! It will be at least a good 30minutes.

BCM dry with chili $5 (medium)

My BCM, mee pok (broad noodles) version. Springy mee pok, seaweed, pork slices, liver, dumplings and a piece of dried crispy fish. Felt that the mee pok was a bit hard, not sure if it is supplier issue or cooking duration issue. The piece of dry cripsy fish add an extra punch into the taste of this BCM. Wish that more was given! Black vinegar was added in too. No idea why their back vinegar taste so much better and really intensify the oomph factor into the taste department.

Mixed Soup $5

I always order this too, the mixed soup! Pork slices, Liver, meatballs, dumplings, seaweed and crispy fish too! Seriously, i do not know if there was any MSG added, but it was so tasty and delicious that I ate and drank till the bowl was empty, sparkling clean.

Still my favourite and best BCM. If you have never eaten this, you need to make a trip down, you will certainty want to try this! This is good, delicious, yummy food that is worth the wait (queue time and travel time) and the money! It is located 5 minutes away from Lavendar MRT station, just behind ICA.

Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle (BCM)

The owner of Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle Mr Tang Chay Seng recently lost a lawsuit. He sued his nephew, Mr Arthur Tung Yang for trying to pass off his noodles (VivoCity stall) as the one being linked to Hill Street. More details can be found here: Lawsuit

I have eaten the Bak Chor Mee (BCM) since 2006. Even till now when i went back to eat recently. The standard has not dropped, but price has increased to ($4,$5,$6)

BCM (dry with chilli) $5 (medium)

When you are queuing, you will be able to take a look at how they prepare. Imagine doing it non-stop for hours (that is how good their business is). I have always ordered the dry version as I like it with black vinegar. Never tried the soup version before. Adding in black vinegar certainty adds the extra punch of oomph factor into the BCM. Springy noodles, seaweed, pork slices, liver, dumplings and a piece of dried crispy fish. So tasty. $5 dollars is just nice for me. Wonder how they mix all the sauce together and what sauce they use.

Mixed Soup $5

Order the mixed soup. Pork slices, Liver, meatballs, dumplings and seaweed! SO tasty! I can practically drink the whole bowl of soup.. every single drop. Its finger licking good!

This is certainty my favorite/best BCM in Singapore. Worth the money. Quality food.
Its just a stone throw away from Lavendar MRT station, behind ICA. If only I live near Lavendar. Be prepared to queue at least 30 to 45 mins during lunch hour from Monday to Saturday. As for dinner time, I been there once the queue was much shorter about 15 minutes wait only! This is a die die must try BCM espcially if you love BCM. I will certainty be returning for more. Hopefully the standard do not drop. =)
