Ichiban Sushi (Plaza Singapura)

Ordered the Hotate Nabe Wazen. If only I took a picture of the menu. Because the menu picture of this disc looks so appetizing!

Compare this above picture to the one you see on its menu the next time you are there. You will know what I mean.

Chawanmushi

Quite like their chawanmushi, only down side is abit salty. Notice the top surface, its smooth. Inside, there are no holes. If the top surface is rough, with holes on the surface and inside, it means that the chawanmushi has been steamed at too high a temperature. Like this as its smooth inside and outside, soft and also has mushrooms inside.

Like the mushrooms and tofu. The scallops were very small. Soup base was salty, which is normal for Japanese restaurants.

Food wise was average. Service was good. Staff were prompt in refilling of drinks. Even after having eaten finished and cleared the tables, the staff still constantly refilled our drinks as we stayed and chat.

Gong Cha (贡茶) (3rd post)

My 3rd post. No, I am not a fan of Gong Cha, its just that I happen to walk past their new outlet at Plaza Singapura (PS).

Surprisingly not crowded considering it was a Saturday afternoon (430pm). Queue just behind 2 person then it was my turn to order again.

Sweetness Level

Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3Js $3.60

Had this yet again. I can really conclude that Gong Cha’s Pearl lost out to KOI. Its hard. Really a spoiler that spoils the texture and fluency of this drink. And I realise that the Ai-Yu jelly is actually yellow in colour, not transparent as described in the previous post. Anyone have any other recommendations for Gong Cha?

And yes they are suddenly opening several new outlets. Besides this outside Plaza Singapura, I spotted another in Raffles City Shopping Centre (it was crowded). I heard that they are facing quality issue at the moment. Lets hope thats not the case with regards to opening so many outlets. Also, someone created a facebook page with all their outlets, and it states Gong Cha has 8 outlets. Now sure how reliable is it.
