Share Tea 歇脚亭 (North Point)

Another new bubble tea player in Singapore. We already have Koi, Gong Cha, Happy Lemon. This time, we have Share Tea 歇脚亭 that sells bubble tea. Share Tea is from Taiwan and has over 90 outlets there. It has been in the bubble industry for 19 years. Its speciality is in natural fruit tea, freshly squeezed and frozen to -40 degrees!

Its first outlet opened in Wisma Atria (Orchard) followed by Parkway Parade and North Point (Yishun). More details on location at the end of the post. Also, they are opening branches in Bugis Juction, International Plaza and United Square soon! If you know the exact location do let me know.

at night

Sunday morning

Went to Share Tea at Northpoint on 2 occasions. The first picture was taken at night on a weekday. It shows the outlet filled with 6 staff and there was slight queue of about 4 persons. On the 2nd occasion (2nd picture), it was taken on Sunday morning at 1130am. Only 1 person manning the outlet with no queue. At Wisma, the queue is never ending. Yishun’s much better.

QQ Happy Family Milk Tea

As this is our first time buying from Share Tea, we had a hard time deciding what to drink. So many choices on its menu. We were undecided. Then we saw this ‘QQ Happy Family Milk Tea’. On its menu it wrote ‘Can’t decide? Try All-in-one!‘. Hence, this was what we ordered.

Sweetness Level (sorry for unclear picture)

You get to choose the sweetness level. Was told by the staff that 80% would be better as I chose 50%. But, we stuck with 50%.

As there was no queue, we got our drink in less than a minute.

QQ Happy Family Milk Tea $5 (Large)

The QQ Happy Family Milk Tea, was basically milk tea with grass jelly, pudding, pearl and red bean in it. The pearl was quite small and easy to suck up the straw. It was soft and spongy; quite a nice. The pudding and grass jelly were of course soft and taste similar to Gong Cha and Koi. The red bean somehow spoiled the experience as it was hard to suck it up the straw. As a result, most were left at the bottom of the cup. As for the taste of the Milk Tea? It did not really suit our taste bud as there was a weird after taste. And it was too sweet even at 50% sugar level. Will order other choices to try next time. Maybe their specialty. If you know what is nice, do let me know.

Wan Chai HongKong Tea Room (Lot 1)

Wan Chai Hongkong Tea Room has 5 outlets in Singapore. As the name suggests, it has the concept of HongKong eatery, be it food, beverage, layout or atmosphere. Went to Wan Chai Hongkong Tea Room in Lot 1 Shopping Centre at Choa Chu Kang for dinner. The place was packed. Had to queue up and wait for seats.

Table Number 1

We sat at table number 1! It was just at the entrance of the outlet. Wish that there were seats inside.

HK 'Yuan-Yang' $1.40

Ordered the HK ‘Yuan-Yang’. Asked for less sugar in an attempt to be healthy… and it was a disaster. Tasted so bitter! Me and my bright idea! =).

Crispy Silk Beancurd 'w' Pork Floss $5.50

The Crispy Silk Beancurd ‘w’ Pork Floss was delicious. It is amazing that such a simple dish that can be easily replicated at home can taste so Shioklicious! Moreover, just 2 ingredients is required. I guess the technique is also to control the heat when frying the beancurd so that the beancurd does not absorb the oil. This eatery managed to make sure that the dish was not oily!

HK Cheese Baked Chicken 'w' Mushroom Rice $8.00

My favourite, the HK Cheese Baked Chicken ‘w’ Mushroom Rice, an item which I have been ordering every time I visit the eatery. Depending on which part of the chicken you receive, it can be very tender and juicy or dry and hard to chew. The melted cheese certainty enhanced the taste of this entire dish. And I love the mushrooms. I should try some other items next time.

I always feel that they may as well do not give customers their complimentary soup. The reason is because, every time the soup taste weird (smelly) and has dirty particles in it. I do highly suspect that the pork/chicken which they add into the soup was not blanched. Hence, the taste and also the particles in the soup. If this is true then hmmm….

Over the food (which I mentioned) is not too bad. But do take note of what you order as the reviews online for the eatery has not been exactly positive.

Domani Cafe

Domani is an Italian word which means tomorrow. They serve Spanish Italian cuisine and is located at Ngee Ann City ( Takashimaya). Quite nice interior designs. Looks like an expensive pace to dine in, but with the lunch time promotion, its not. There was a queue when we went there during lunch hours on Christmas Eve. Waited about 15-20 minutes.

Lunch-Time Promotion

There were having this lunch time promotion. (Not sure if the lunch time promotion is still on) Today’s Soup + Choice of Main Course + Choice of Drink from $10.90 onwards. Drinks include House Coffee, Iced Tea, Coke, 7-Up or Pearl of Orient. We both ordered Pearl of Orient which is Jasmine and Rose Tea.

Minestrone Soup

Minestrone Soup was forgettable. Nothing fantastic.

Spaghetti Gumbo Seafood

Spaghetti Gumbo Seafood $13.90

I ordered the Spaghetti Gumbo Seafood $13.90. Braised Prawns, mussel, squid in gumbo sauce. Its been sometime since I ate this. But I remember that the pasta is hard. The prawn was not fresh; the meat was not firm. The squid was rubbery and hard, most likely was overcooked.

Spaghetti Salsiccia Sausage Balsamic

Spaghetti Salsiccia Sausage Balsamic $10.90

She ordered Spaghetti Salsiccia Sausage Balsamic. Can’t remember much about this dish, except that the spaghetti was hard too.

Pearl of Orient

Tea bag in the Tea Pot

The Pearl of Orient; Jasmin and Rose Tea. Not bad quite fragrant. Luckily we both ordered this and did not order something normal like coke or ice tea. Guess this is the best ‘dish’!

As you can see read, my top of mind awareness of Domani Cafe is that the pasta is hard. Not exactly what a F&B restaurant would want to be associated with. Of course, you may find that the pasta is not hard, its all a matter of personal perspective. So do read this with a pinch of salt.
