Thai Express

Went to Thai Express for dinner on a weekday. This outlet has lots of sitting space. As the name suggest, Thai Express serves Thai cuisine in Singapore.

The Sa-nook set menu has been around for quite sometime, its real value for money at $8.90++

Thai Express Menu

Here’s the Thai Express Main Menu. Trademark orange colour for its cover. And the meaning of Sa-nook is ‘Enjoyment & Fun’. Looks like this is the mission of Thai Express for customers to enjoy and have fun.

Sa-nook Tom Yum Seafood Soup

The Sa-nook Tom Yum Seafood Soup set consist of rice with crispy pancake appetiser, tom yum soup and steam sweet tapioca with coconut cream.

Rice with Crispy Pancake Appetiser

Crispy Pancake Appetiser

Wish that more of the crispy pancake appetiser was given. To enhance the taste, dip it into the sweet and spicy sauce given!

Tom Yum Seafood Soup

I was pleasantly surprised by the generous ingredients given in the Tom Yum Seafood Soup. There are prawns, mushrooms, squids and pieces of fish in the soup. Normally, Tom Yum Soup containers a layer of chilli oil to give it the spiciness. Oddly, Thai Express’s Tom Yum Soup did not even have one tiny bit of oil. Their spicyness comes from the chilli padi. If you are healthy conscious and wants a good tom yum soup, this is for you. (back to the soup) The soup is clear. In terms of taste it is spicy and sour. Not too bad, quite nice, but not the nicest. Wish that it was abit more spicy.

Steam Sweet Tapioca with Coconut Cream

You can hardy go wrong with dessert, Steam Sweet Tapioca with Coconut Cream unless the coconut cream is not fresh. This is my 2nd time eating this set. The reason why I went for Sa-nook set and not any other dishes in Thai Express main menu is because of the dessert. And well, it did not disappoint me. Certainty a good way to end the meal!

Chicken Tang Hoon Balls in Soup with Glass Noodles $9.90

She ordered Chicken Tang Hoon Balls in Soup with Glass Noodles. There’s 3 huge chicken balls! Quite interesting, however, I felt that the soup was too salty.

The service is quite good, drinks get refilled promptly and food arrives within 15minutes. Overall, this was a good meal. Certainty enjoyable and fun.
