New World Mutton Soup

First tried this stall (New World Mutton Soup) in 2008 when I was working in Singpost building. Had quite a good impression, hence came back to try again.

Mutton Noodle (Soup) $5.00

It used to cost cheaper than $5.00. Standard has definitely dropped. The soup used to be richer with a stronger herbal taste. Moreover, there is quite a strong taste/smell of mutton that mask the soup. I certainty do not recall this taste previously. Too little noodles too. As for mutton meat, lots was provided. But the next time I come Bedok Interchange Food Centre, I am going to skip this and go eat the Soto Ayam instead.

Soto Ayam (Inspirasi)

Inspirasi is located at Bedok Interchange Food Centre. It sells mainly Mee Rebus, Soto Ayam and Mee Soto. Along with the fried potato patties.

Soto Ayam $2.00, Fried Potato Patty $0.50

Add the chilli according to how spicy you want your meal to be. This Soto Ayam consists of rice cakes, bean sprouts and shredded chicken. The rice cakes are cut into cubes. Bean sprouts crunchy, not over cooked and no raw taste. Shredded chicken was tender and surprisingly soft. The ingredients are very fresh.

The best part was the soup. I have no idea how they made the soup. The soup was very clear, flavourful and sweet. I believe no MSG was added. Adding the chilli according to your own preference, it adds a pinch of spice into this wonderful soup.

The fried potato patty was not too bad too despite being ‘dunk’ into the soup. Nothing fantastic about this fried potato patty as the soto ayam overshadowed it.

Certainty worth the $2.00 for this soto ayam. This stall is certainty a stall to try if you are in the area.
