Sakae Sushi, this time at Northpoint. Again, I had to queue up, for half an hour. With 32 outlets in Singapore, every outlet seems to have a queue outside during lunch and dinner time. Must be making big bucks!
A must order for her everytime, Ajitsuke Idako which is baby octopus sushi.
The Sakae Chawanmushi was slight different from the one we ate at Choa Chu Kang Lot1. The Chawanmushi seems to taste slightly harder than normal. Might be because the amount of water to egg ratio is not consistent among the outlets or batches.
Teriyaki Chicken Ramen, overall it was not bad. the teriyaki chicken was well marinated. It was soft, tender and tasty. The ramen was well cooked, soft and springy. The only thing that was disappointing was the egg, it was slightly overcooked. Looks like quality control is really a problem between different outlets; you get different standards.
Everything here seems to be priced at $xx.99! The Tenno Gozen consist of Beef Hotplate, Tempura Moriawase, Lobster Salad Tofu, Mini Udon and Sakae Chawanmushi. Quite a lot of food!
The beef hotplate, wish that the flame beneath can burn longer so that the carrot can be cooked longer and hence softer. Cooking the beef in this hotplate is a good idea after all, I can cook it to the leve I prefer.
Mini Udon was average, nothing to shout about.
Tempura Moriawase, hmmm lousy. Thick batter, prawn was not very fresh and the flesh was not firm.
Lobster Salad Tofu, probably one of the best dish in the set. Amazing something that seems so simple such as tofu can taste so great when you know how to pair it up.
Service is quite good, just that there seems to be a long queue everytime. Having to wait for half an hour when there is just 4 couples in front of us. Also, does not make sense that they give us a table that could sit 8people! But overall, food is acceptable not too bad, will be back again.
