Another visit to Parklane Zha Yun Tun Mee House. This time I went to the one at North Bridge Road just directly opposite Bugis Junction Shopping Centre.
Decided to order the Yun Tun Mee ( wanton mee). Standard should be the same right since its the same name = same owner. Well, but it was not.
The Yun Tun Mee comes in either $3.50 or $4.50, this time round I ordered the $3.50 Yun Tun Mee.
In terms of presentation, it looks messy as per normal with this stall. But disappointingly, the taste department failed. The noodles was not QQ nor was it springy. Moreover, the noodles was dry and hard.
The star of the meal is again the same Char Siew. Similar standard as the one at Bencoolen Street. Tender, flavourful and not hard.
The fried yun tun was similar to the outlet in Bencoolen Street, nothing fancyful to me as I prefer more meat fillings.
Hmmm, the home-made barley at this outlet is 10cents cheaper than the one at Bencoolen Street. No idea why.
Food arrives quite fast, maybe too fast that is why the noodles was hard and dry. Not sure if you were to try it on other days the noodles will be better. But so far, the consistency at the Bencoolen Street outlet is better. If I were to recommend, I would recommend the stall at Bencoolen Street, not North Bridge Road.
